BIRTH. - On Wednesday, the 24th inst., to the wife of Chas. Hickok, a daughter.

A Mennonite preacher held forth in the school house to a small congregation last Friday night.

A tramp did the flying trapeze act in great style at the depot on Wednesday. He had been ejected from the passenger train, and stood quietly at the end of the platform until the rear end of the train had reached him, when he sprang and caught the rear railing, and then threw himself safely on the truck, underneath the car. After proceeding some distance the train was stopped to allow him to alight by request. When the train was brought to a standstill, his trampship was standing a little in the rear, and with a polite "Good day, gentlemen!" took the overland route to his destination.
