RUNAWAY DASHES AGAINST STREETCAR.

A runaway horse dashed into an interurban car at Washington and Tenth avenues S at 7:40 a.m. today. The horse struck with such force as to jar the entire car, which was crowded, and to ram his head thru the heaving iron grating of a window. None of the passengers was injured and the horse did not seem much the worse for his assault on the car.

The animal, drawing a delivery wagon of the Atlas Paint company, was making a wild dash down Tenth avenue S toward the river, and the car was crossing on Washington avenue at about half speed. The horse seemed to be blind so far as the car was concerned, for he did not check his speed nor swerve from the path down the center of the street. The animal struck the car at the third seat from the rear, his head forcing in the window grating, and fell in a heap beside the car. Miss Moes of 134 Maria avenue, St Paul, occupied the seat where the horse struck.

"I was sitting on the edge of the seat. because of the strong draft from the open window," said Miss Moes to the conductor, "and I suppose that is how I wasn't hurt in the least."

The horse was stunned for some minutes, but later regained his feet and was led off, apparently little the worse for the adventure.
