TRAVELED WITH CATTLE.

A Boy From Wells Makes an Involuntary Journey to the Big City.

Elmer St. John, a 12-year-old boy from Wells, Minn., is at the central police station, having come all the way from his home to the city in a car loaded with cattle. He will be returned to his home this evening.

Young St. John was employed by a farmer who was shipping some cattle to Minneapolis, to stay in the car for a few minutes and see that the cattle were all right while their owner went up town on an errand. While the boy was in the car, the train started and, although he called for help, he was not able to get out until the train reached the Minnesota Transfer last evening.

When Patrolman Fred Johnson picked up the boy on Washington avenue S this morning, the lad was nearly starved, having had nothing to eat since Monday noon. He seemed greatly interested in the sights, but said that he was anxious to get back to Wells.
