Board of Education.

At a meeting of the Board of Education Wednesday, the following business was transacted:

The committee on schools recommended change of names of buildings as follows: Blaisdell, to be known as the Whittier; Minnehaha school, Longfellow; Layman, the Irving; and the North Minneapolis, the Hawthorne.

The building committee was instructed to buy lots 1, 2, and 3, block 10, Elwell's second addition; and also the east half of block 2, East side addition, both to be used for the purpose of increasing the school facilities of the city.

The board decided to allow the graduating class to hold graduating exercises on June 21, in the Grand Opera House, provided they do so without expense to the board. It was decided that Bishop Foss be requested to deliver the address.

The regular monthly budget of bills was audited and ordered paid.

The bill of I. C. Roberts for $111 for hanging a bell on the old Blaisdell school, was ordered paid, as it had been contracted for by the town directors before the extension of the city limits.
