Milwaukee & St. Louis Depot Ticket Office Broken Into.

The ticket office in the Minneapolis & St. Louis passenger depot on Broadway was broken into on Monday evening, but the thieves were frightened away before they secured any great amount of booty. Between the time Ticket Agent Munson left the depot after the departure of the Albert Lea train at 7 o'clock and the time Night Watchman Stockwell got around, an entrance was effected to the ticket office by the breaking in of one of the lower panels of the door. The money order drawer was pulled loose from its bearings and smashed into flinders, but the money kept there during the day had been removed to the safe. Both the ticket racks were easily accessible, and Munson does not yet know whether any tickets have been stolen or not.

Hostler Alex. Mead, who pulled out the engine of the incoming train at 9 o'clock, says he saw the broken panel, but thought little or nothing about it. It is thought at the Minneapolis & St. Louis general office that the work was probably that of boys, and it is claimed that no money was stolen.
