A Shot Tower.

St. Paul now has a shot tower. The institution was opened Tuesday, when the first run of shot was made under charge of C. H. B. Carter, president of the company. Mr. Carter established, and has managed for four years, the Omaha shot foundry. He is also one of the chief stockholders in the Dubuque foundry. This foundry makes both drop and buck shot, and bar lead will also be run. At the present time the capacity of the St. Paul foundry is 15,000 pounds per day. Mr. Carter has associated with him Mr. F. C. Ripley as superintendent, who has had large experience in the wholesale shot business in the northwest, and Mr. J. D. Carter, as secretary.
