New Quarters.

The Surveyor General's office has been removed to rooms in the upper story of Thompson's block, over the First National Bank. We dropped in to see the new quarters yesterday, and found everything in apple-pie order, and the business going forward the same as usual.

Some changes have taken place in the clerical force. Poor Mott's chair is still vacant, and will probably not be filled for some time to come. Mr. Nichols occupies the position of Assistant Transcribing Clerk, made vacant by Mr. T. F. Masterson, who at present is engaged in the State Auditor's office. Our able friend, Dr. Watson, Chief Clerk, and James B. Power, Chief Draughtsman, are the only familiar faces that greet the visitor in the new rooms.
