CHRIS, JR.'S NERVE
An 17-Year-Old Youngster Elopes with a Maid of 24.
An elopement "wrong end to," has been perpetrated upon the unhappy family of Chris Grahringer and they are in a foam of excitement over the disappearance of their 17-year-old son, Chris, Jr., with a young lady, who his parents protest is every day of 24. On Dec. 31, Chris, Jr., disappeared and his parents could not imagine where he was until they rushed to the clerk's office and discovered the license. It seems that on Dec. 31, young Chris braced up to the marriage license man at the clerk's office, stated that he was 21 and his bride was 18, received his license and was united with his bride in regular form by Rev. K. F. Norris, of the Open Door Congregational church. This discovery raised another wail from the unhappy parents for Chris, a good Catholic, had been married to a Protestant girl by a Protestant minister.
All the evidence are that the young folks are now off on their wedding tour. As nothing could be done the old folks went away home bewailing their fate.
