BRASS THIEVES CAUSING TROUBLE - ONE ARREST.

Brass thieves are still causing the railroad companies no end of trouble, and the special officers and police are constantly on the watch for this class of crooks. After lying in wait for a long time a pair of city detectives arrested John O'Day in the Omaha yards last night. O'Day was charged with grand larceny. He is alleged to have purloined a quantity of brass from the company.

The police have not yet found the owner of the runaway horse and buggy which was picked up on Western avenue several [nights] ago. It is believed that the owner was a brass thief, as several castings were found in the vehicle.
