Arrested for Larceny.

Yesterday Detective Dan O'Connor took into custody Kit Adams on the charge of the larceny of two watches and two diamond rings. The property is to be valued at $200 and the arrest was made on a warrant sworn out by Mrs. Sarah Reynolds residing on Jenks street. The latter is a nurse and Adams and his family formerly occupied the upper floor of her dwelling. During the absence of Mrs. Reynolds on professional visits, it is alleged that Adams opened her trunk and secured the jewelry. One of the watches was recovered by Detective O'Connor in Upham's pawn shop on East Seventh street, and Adams, it is said, has been identified as the one who put it in soak. He is a man of mature age and intelligence and seemed almost prostrated by his arrest. It is understood that he has been employed as a writer on a certain alleged Sunday paper printed in St. Paul, and that for some time back he has been on a spree, over indulgence in liquor no doubt being the cause of it.
