NEW COMMANDMENTS.

Revised to Suit the Occasion.

The ten commandments have been revised by the mail order houses to suit their business and we reproduce them here. No comment is necessary.

1. Thou shalt sell thy farm produce to the local merchants but not to us: we never buy anything from you and yours.

2. Thou shalt believe all our statements every time in preference to your home dealers who have been your life-long friends and buy all your needs from us, because we want your money altho we are not personally acquainted with you.

3. Thou shalt send thy money in advance so we can have plenty of time to buy the goods with your money and it is only a few weeks wait for you.

4. Thou shalt apply to the nearest city to help you build your roads so that you can conveniently get to the depot to haul home the goods you buy from us as we do not build country roads.

5. Thou shalt buy thy church bell and interior fixtures from us and send the money in advance for we never extend anyone credit no matter how hard up they are.

6. Thou shalt collect from thy business men in your community what money you need for church benefits for even tho we get more money from you than they do, it is against our rules to donate money for anything.

7. Thou shalt buy thy tools from us and be your own mechanic in order to drive the mechanics from your vicinity, as we want to drive all classes of business from your neighborhood, when up goes our prices and you will have to buy from us.

8. Thou shalt induce thy neighbors to buy everything from us that we may get you where we want you and quicker.

9. Thou shalt have the merchants and mechanics who you do deal with book the account so you can send more cash to us as we want it all.

10. Thou shalt apply to thy local dealer for credit in case of sickness of any kind, as he may accomodate you: we will not as we do not know you. --Ex.
