DECORATION DAY.


Order of Parade and Programme for East Minneapolis.


The following is the order of the parade for the Decoration day observance in East Minneapolis, Monday morning:

Platoon of mounted police.
Platoon of foot police.
Plate's band.
Camp Sons of Veterans No. 9.
Grand Army of the Republic.
Dudley P. Chase Post Drum Corps.
Hibernian Rifles.
Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Canton No. 7.
I. O. O. F. No. 40.
St. Anthony Total Abstinence and Mutual Benefit society.
Union band.
Pupils of all public and private schools on the East side.
A. O. U. W. No. 16.
French Benevolent society.
German society.
Scandinavian society.
Carriage containing Hon. A. A. Ames, mayor of Minneapolis.
H. E. Blaisdell, president of the day; Prof. John W. Downey, orator of the day, and Rev. Father O'Reilly, pastor of the Church of St. Anthony of Padua.
Carriage containing Gen. and Mrs. H. P. Van Cleve, Rev. Horace Worden, chaplain of Dudley P. Chase Post No. 22, G. A. R.; E. L. Otis, Judge Lochren and others.
Ladies of Relief Corps No. 10, in carriages.
City council.
Citizens generally.

The line of march will be as follows: University avenue to Central avenue, to Fourth street, Fourth street to Fourth avenue, Fourth avenue to Adams street, Adams street to Summer street, Summer street to Chute's grove, where the exercises of the day will take place, in accordance with the following programme:

Announcement of opening exercises by president of the day: dirge by band; prayer by chaplain of post, Rev. Horace Worden; singing by pupils of Winthrop school, under the leadership of Prof. Raymond; introductory remarks by E. J. Otis, editor of the East Side Register; address by Rev. Father O'Reilly; music by the band; address by Mrs. C. O. Van Cleve to pupils of schools; singing by pupils of Winthrop school; oration by Prof. John W. Downey; remarks by Mayor Ames and others; benediction by Rev. Father O'Reilly.

Then will follow the decoration ceremony in Maple Hill cemetery and the East Side Catholic cemetery. All the exercises will be in the morning. In the afternoon members of the East side organizations will informally take part in the West side exercises. The pupils of all the schools on the East side will report at the Winthrop school grounds at 8:30 a. m. Commanding officers of all societies will report to Capt. Michael Hoy, chief marshal, at Grand Army hall, 208 Central avenue. The following assistant marshals have been appointed, and will report to Capt. Michael Hoy at 8:30 a. m.: Fred C. Shepherd, William Leitz, T. L. Bergerson, J. H. Hagan.
