The Dog Nuisance.
|
A great many citizens have dogs who are in the habit of lying down in front of their residences, and as ladies or gentlemen drive by, run out and follow the horses and carriages, and keep up one continuous bark, or else catch riding horses by the tail, thereby endangering the lives of the riders. A great many complaints have reached this office, and many times heretofore has this paper written articles warning the owners of all dogs of this character to keep them chained, or the drivers of all conveyances would be justified by shooting them as common nuisances. Complaints are again made that quite a number of dogs, especially in the outlying districts, are frightening riders and those who have to drive on the pleasant and cool evenings of the past week, and if those who wish these dogs shot will simply complain to the chief of police, he will apply a judicious remedy. |
