HARPER AND WAVERLY.

We are indebted to our book-selling friend, Hechtman, for Harper and Waverly Magazines for March. Waverly is varied, common-place, loquacious, fat, flat and funny; Harper is well-dressed, two-faced, obsequious, clever, pliant, juicy, jaunty, jolly and gingerly, and always bows low and addresses the reader with "a beautiful day, sir!" whether it rain or shine. We can but consider it a coward in covers, but the comical engravings at the end of the chapter, representing "substance and shadow" so faithfully, are alone worth the price of subscription.
