Another Old Resident Gone. Early on Sunday morning Mr. Simnel Stough, an old and well-known resident of Hennepin county, died of paralysis at his house in the town of Richfield. Mr. Stough had previously suffered from like attacks, but until this recent one, had rallied, and though not well, had enjoyed tolerable health, until recently he was stricken on his right side, whence the disease spread until he became totally helpless; then he sank gradually until death came to his relief. Mr. Stough was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, on the 20th of March, 1804, and in 1849 he emigrated with his family to the territory of Minnesota, and locating first at St. Anthony, and has since resided in this country. He was one of the first settlers in Richfield township, and during a long residence there he has attracted to himself staunch and valued friends, who with the bereaved family are afflicted at the providence which has removed him from earth. His funeral service, which occurred at the family residence yesterday afternoon, was conducted by Rev. Mr. Lowry of Ohio, an old personal friend, and was deeply impressive. A large concourse of family, friends and neighbors were present. |
