Only a "Business Transaction." Rudolph Petteler, a farmer living near Dundas, told the police yesterday that he had been buncoed out of $65 in cash by two men whom he met at the union depot. He knew one of the men, he said, but could not remember the name. This one requested the loan of $65 for a few moments, so that he could complete a business transaction with the other bunco man. Petteler gave it to him and sat down in the waiting room to await the conclusion of the "transaction." His attention was called to a young lady who had suddenly been taken ill, and when he looked around again the two men and his money had gone. |
