ORGANIZATIONS. TO ADDRESS CLASSICAL CLUB. - Professor Herbert P. Archibold of Concord college will deliver a lecture on the subject "Inspirational Teaching of Latin," before the newly formed Classical club at the state university at 8:15 p. m. Monday, in room 109 Folwell hall. TO TELL OF WORKHOUSE. - Superintendent Frank R. McDonald of the workhouse will give an address Monday evening before the Hennepin council, Knights of Columbus, Fifth avenue S and Eighth street. The talk will deal with the operation of the workhouse. LECTURE GIVEN IN SCHOOL. - The Parents' and Teachers' association of the Lake Harriet school were entertained at a stereopticon lecture given by the pupils. In the school auditorium last night, illustrating a trip around the world. The stereopticon was recently purchased by the association by popular subscription and installed in the school. Twenty-six girls of the school took part in a program of folk dances. The Harriet school orchestra played several patriotic selections. MINNEAPOLIS PAVING PRAISED. - Minneapolis creosoted block paving is praised as "the most satisfactory in this part of the country" in a statement by the St. Paul Association of Commerce, criticizing the paving policy of Mayor H. P. Keller of that city. |
