DOWNY SWANS "SHELLING OUT"

Loring Park Denizens Score Four Out of Five.

Pride and joy reigned at Loring park this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Swan, who own the lake, took their family of four downy little swans just out of the shell out paddling for the first time yesterday. There was a big event in the swan cottage near the bridge Tuesday when the four baby swans elected to come out of their shells. Four of the five eggs in the nest hatched, which Mr. and Mrs. Swan evidently considered was doing pretty well.

The newcomers are gray, but after the first season they will be as snow-white as the big swans. The swan family at Lake of the Isles and the one at Powderhorn will soon have several new members.
