DE LAMBERT TURNS UP. A Government Agent Not Lost in Rainy Lake Country. Telegrams in the evening papers announced that great anxiety was felt in Washington concerning Special Agent R. W. De Lambert, of the general land office, who was in the Rainy Lake river country, and had not been heard from for seven weeks. Great was the astonishment of Agent De Lambert, last night, when a GLOBE reporter congratulated him, at the government building, upon being found. He never knew he had been lost, and could not account for the belief at Washington that he was "the man who could not be found." He only reached St. Paul yesterday, having come down from the Rainy river region, where he has been investigating timber trespassing on government lands. He is preparing his report on the situation, and especially with reference to the advisability of establishing a post near the border, for the purpose of preventing the taking of timber by Canadians. |
