ALLOW FRIEND TO DROWN.

Medicine Lake Fishermen Go to Rescue Too Late.

Anthony Anderson, 29 years old, 123 Tenth street N, was drowned and his five friends narrowly escaped drowning in Medicine lake early yesterday, when a boat in which the six were fishing overturned.

All the men were good swimmers, and when they discovered that the wind was blowing the overturned boat farther in to the lake, they attempted to swim for the shore, a mile distant.

According to friends, Anderson became exhausted when about 300 feet from shore and cried for help. Other members of the party believed him fooling, and did not think it necessary to go to his aid.

He sank twice and then the others went to his rescue, but Anderson had drowned. The body was recovered by the police. A brother of the drowned man will take charge of the body.
