SECURES EDUCATIONAL FILMS

While in the cities last week Supt. A. M. Bank of the public schools made arrangements for a series of educational and current event movies to be given at the Auditorium. One of the classes in the school has recently been reading "Rip Van Winkle" and Supt. Bank has ordered this film, to be given Friday, at 4:00 p. m., free to students of the school. An admission charge of 10 cents will be charged to those not attending school. Other classes in the school are reading and studying other books, and Supt. Bank has a request in for the films of these subjects, if obtainable. Current events will also be shown at the Auditorium Friday afternoon, and each afternoon thereafter until the close of the school year. On Monday evening next, the play, "The Cross Bearer," will be shown.

The movies, as an educational feature in the schools, are receiving endorsement in the leading schools of the country, and fortunately Park Rapids is in position to take advantage of the opportunity for this pleasant and entertaining line of work. Supt. Bank finds that there is an abundance of good, wholesome matter available for work in this line, and its value will be tried out during the remainder of the school year. All of these programs will be open to the public at a nominal fee.
