6 Men Have Narrow Escapes. Auto Collides With Pop Corn Wagon, Knocking Out Riders. In a collision between a popcorn wagon and an automobile at Main street and Central avenue yesterday six men had narrow escapes from serious injury. The riders were thrown to the pavement, but received only minor bruises. The wagon turned into Main street just as the auto was coming down Central avenue, and was struck broadside. The three occupants of the wagon, Charles W. Anderson, Frank Cook and Dick White, landed on the opposite side of the street among the debris of their conveyance. Those in the auto, which is owned by the Western Auto company, St. Paul, consisting of the driver, Gust Kohmal, and two friends, were also thrown out. The machine was badly wrecked. The police made an investigation, but were unable to place the blame for the accident. |
