ONE SHAVE COSTS $10.15.

C. D. VELIE'S WAITING AUTO CHARGED WITH TEN DOLLARS OF EXPENSE.

It cost C. D. Velie at least $10.15 for the shave he got Saturday afternoon, as it came out in police court today. Mr. Velie was arrested by Patrolman George Dahl at Washington and Hennepin avenues for allowing his automobile to stand at the curb longer than twenty minutes.

"It was Saturday afternoon and a busy day for the barbers," explained Mr. Velie to the court. "It was busier than most Saturdays, as the Fourth was to be celebrated on Monday. I hurried in to get a shave, and all the chairs were full. I must have waited half an hour before I got a chance for a shave. When the barber finished with me and I got out to the machine, the officer was waiting for me. But surely a man should have opportunity to get a shave."

The court refused to accept the excuse, and fined Mr. Velie $10.

"That makes that shave $10 and " - began Mr. Velie.

"Well, it all depends on whether you tipped the barber or whether you got a massage or your hair trimmed," said one of the court officers. "Just add to that $10 whatever you paid in the barbershop."
