SOLDIERS WELCOME 1919.

Husky Youngster is Cheered to Echo by 600 Soldiers and Sailors.

Six hundred soldiers and sailors greeted Santa Claus, bade the old year farewell and cheered St. Paul to the echo as they welcomed the infant 1919 at the Soldiers and Sailors' club last night.

The majority of the soldier guests were from the Air Service Mechanics' school, and they made the most of their last night's frolic here.

With the exception of a special detail of about 250, the last of the air school students will be sent to demobilization camps today.

The New Years' Eve celebration was under the auspices of the Cosmopolitan club. The entertainment included the distribution of gifts from the Christmas tree, Director C. W. Campbell appearing again in his nightly role of Santa Claus.

The entertainment arrangements were in charge of Mrs. A. L. Haman, chairman, assisted by Mrs. A. K. Watson, Mrs. H. P. Fahenstock, Mrs. J. E. Forest and Mrs. G. W. Robinson.

Members of the D. A. R. today will be hostesses to the soldiers and sailors. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.
