Referencing the City Directory's description for Wards 5, 7, 8 and 9, the boundary of Ward 4 can be described as follows: Commencing at the Mississippi River and Jackson Street, go northwest on Jackson Street to 13th, then southwest on 13th to Robert Street, then southeast on Robert Street to East Summit Avenue, then southwest on East Summit Avenue to Wabasha, then southeast on Wabasha to West Summit Avenue, then southwest on West Summit Avenue to West 3d Street, then southeast on West 3d Street to its intersection with Eagle Street, then southeast on Eagle Street to the Mississippi River, and then northeast along the Mississippi River to the point of beginning.
