D. D. Williams was born in Kane county, Illinois, and was brought to Judson, Blue Earth county, this state, in 1855. After leaving school in 1877 he read law at Madelia, taught school a year, and then resumed the study of law until 1879, when he was admitted to the bar. He began practicing at Bird Island in the spring of 1880.
